Wedding Manicure: OPI Axxium

photo

Hi brides!

I just got a manicure last Wednesday and tried something new.  It’s called Axxium by O.P.I and it’s a gel-based polish.  If you’ve heard of Shellac, it’s very similar, just O.P.I’s version.  It’s more expensive then a normal paint manicure (about $35-$43 depending on the salon) but in my opinion, it’s worth it!  It differs from a normal manicure because since it is gel-based, it is thicker, stronger and shinier.  A normal manicure will begin to chip in less than a week but a manicure with Axxium will last 2-4 weeks without chipping and stays as shiny as the day it was painted on!  To me, it’s a breakthrough!!

I think it’s especially important to know about for you brides because it’s a perfect manicure for you to get for your wedding day.  The manicure will last through your honeymoon  looking as amazing as the day you got them done.

The manicure takes about 30 minutes.  The first layer is the gel-based base coat.  It comes in a little pod and is applied with a small brush.  Your nails go in a UV light dryer to cure for 2 minutes.  The next step is two layers of color, curing for 2 minutes in the UV light between each layer.  The last and final layer is the gel-based top coat.  Your nails then go back in  the UV dryer for 3 minutes.  The manicurist will wipe your nails with alcohol because they come out sticky at first, then you are ready to go!  You can even rummage in your bag for your keys right away!

See the photo above for my O.P.I Axxium manicure, 5 days in.  I will share another photo in 1 week and a half so you can see!

Enjoy!

Stay fab,

Lauren
